The video-sharing social networking service donated $3 million to the 72-year-old old former governor of California’s After-School All-Stars non-profit on Thursday (March 19).
The foundation will deliver grocery gift cards and food to people in different cities around the United States. After-School All-Stars usually centers around after-school programs but is now focusing on feeding kids who are no longer receiving meals at school.
“Because of the corona crisis, those kids have been sent home,” Arnold said in a TikTok video. “So now, instead of providing after school programs, we thought it would be cool and great if we could provide food for those families. But, of course, you can have the best ideas in the world but if you don’t have the money you have nothing… TikTok came along and said we are the ones that are going to donate the millions of dollars to help feed those families.”
We must improvise in crisis. After-School All-Stars will be delivering food to the families we serve. Thank you @tiktok for making this possible.♬ original sound – arnoldschnitzel
