While discussing the upcoming season of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Williams opened up about her summertime split from Dennis McKinley, their re-engagement and slowly building trust again.
“We’re happy and we’re raising our daughter together,” Williams told Us Weekly. “It’s been a long road, one we’re still on.”
Williams, 38, and McKinley, 42, went public with their relationship in June 2018. Three months later, Williams announced her pregnancy, followed by their New Year’s Eve engagement. They welcomed daughter Pilar Jhena’ in March, and whispers of a split began in May 2019 when McKinley was rumored to have cheated on the reality star, with all of the drama unfolding in front of “Real Housewives” cameras.
“Fans will see everything. I think fans like the fact that I’ve always been very honest and transparent, and I definitely had to just dig in and continue to be that way, even though I was going through a hard time.
“Fans will see us in counseling and will see me dealing with real life. A lot of what a lot of people deal with in relationships, they’re going to see on TV — the good and the bad and the ugly.”
The couple temporarily split in June, with the new mom admitting that show cameras didn’t make the situation any easier.
“I think the cameras became so big,” she said. “Having to deal with a breakup on camera, having to deal with just what we were going to do as a family, it was really difficult.”
