But it wasn’t your average Postmates order. The Space Jam 2 star — who hosts Taco Tuesday dinners with wife Savannah and children LeBron Jr., 15, Bryce, 12, and Zhuri, 5 — sent a full-blown truck full of grub.
“Thank you @KingJames, for generously sending a taco truck to support our @LAFD firefighters, first responders, and partner agencies working to fight the #GettyFire,” LA mayor Eric Garcetti wrote on Twitter. He also posted two photos of the heroic recipients ordering food and enjoying the treat. Mariscos Jalisco even gave the kind gesture a shout-out on Instagram, writing, “@Kingjames hired us today to serve the hardworking fire fighters, first responders and other agencies working to fight the Getty Fire!”
On Monday, LeBron tweeted about his family trying to find a place to stay after leaving their home. “Had to emergency evacuate my house and I’ve been driving around with my family trying to get rooms. No luck so far!” he wrote. Later, he revealed that they were able to locate a safe place. “My best wishes as well to the first responders right now doing what they do best!” he added.
