Instagram isn’t about to let everyone else have all the fun. Yep, now it has a dark mode option.
There’s a small catch, however. As noted by Engadget, Instagram doesn’t have a dark mode option that can be toggled off and on. Instead, whether you’re on Android or iOS 13, dark mode must be enabled in your phone’s settings for it to be active in the app.
In iOS 13, there are a few ways to turn on dark mode. First, you can find the option in the “Display & Brightness” section of your settings. Second, you can just ask Siri to turn it on. And, finally, if you hold the brightness level indicator in the control panel, it’ll bring up an option screen that includes the dark mode toggle switch.
As for Instagram’s parent company, Facebook has yet to roll out its long-rumored dark mode feature to its main app. Still, between Messenger and now Instagram getting the option, maybe there’s hope it’ll be sooner rather than later.
